Can/should I engage in cardiovascular conditioning or other exercise wile participating in the Body Mastery program?

You will not need additional exercise to maintain or increase your level of fitness.

Contrary to popular fitness philosophy, your heart and lungs cannot be trained independently of your skeletal muscles. In fact, your cardiovascular system exists to serve your muscles, so as you demand more of your skeletal muscles, they will in turn demand more of your heart and lungs.

This is not to say that so-called “cardio” exercise cannot be beneficial, and sustained low-to-medium intensity exercise can increase muscular efficiency and overall endurance. However, these activities do not meaningfully stimulate muscle growth and are often very tough on joints and connective tissues.

That being said, we certainly encourage you to participate in other physical activities that you enjoy. One of the primary benefits of our program is that it affords you more time and peace of mind to enjoy sports and other activities without feeling obligated to perform mundance or unenjoyable tasks in the name of fitness.

We take care of the exercise part. Everything else you do with your body should be fun, so get out and enjoy it. That's what it's there for!
